IMF, EU, ECB visit to Greece delayed: official
A visit to Athens due Monday by IMF, ECB and EU officials to discuss emergency debt relief worth billion of euros has been delayed due to air travel difficulties, the Greek finance ministry said.
“Due to air traffic difficulties and the cancellation of flights, the start of discussions between the Greek government and (delegations from) the European Commission, European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund have been delayed a few days”, the ministry statement said.
The new date for the beginning of discussions has been set for Wednesday April 21.
The negotiations that were due to begin Monday centred on the conditions attached to 30 billion euros (41 billion dollars) worth of loans to Greece from the EU and half as much again from the International Monetary Fund.
